The case was opened after the 5-year-old boy\u2019s mother noticed that his penis was bruised. <\/p>\n
He then told his mother that his cousin, with whom he shares a mattress on the floor at their Zwelisha informal settlement home, had hurt him. <\/p>\n
The young girl has not been arrested or removed from her home but the Phoenix Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit was dealing with the matter.<\/p>\n
Childline manager Joan van Niekerk told the newspaper it would be unlikely that the girl would face a criminal charge in court as she probably couldn\u2019t grasp the concept of sex and the criminal aspects attached to it.<\/p>\n
