{"id":12945,"date":"2014-03-06T03:14:57","date_gmt":"2014-03-06T03:14:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/u-s-embassy-celebrates-world-read-aloud-day\/"},"modified":"2014-03-06T03:14:41","modified_gmt":"2014-03-06T03:14:41","slug":"u-s-embassy-celebrates-world-read-aloud-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/u-s-embassy-celebrates-world-read-aloud-day\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Embassy Celebrates World Read Aloud Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-4462 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/027.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>{{More than 30 U.S. Embassy Kigali employees visited 15 schools and the Gihembe refugee camp in Byumba to help Rwandan students celebrate World Read Aloud Day on Wednesday, March 5. }} <\/p>\n<p>U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda Donald Koran visited a classroom of students at Gihembe refugee camp in Byumba to read the Rwandan book \u201cThe Magic Formula\u201d by Ibrahima Ndiaye and Capucine Mazill, while other embassy employees chose classic American children\u2019s books as well as books with themes of girls\u2019 empowerment and teamwork.  <\/p>\n<p>World Read Aloud Day is celebrated around the world as a way to introduce students and young people to the joys and uses of reading and reintroduce adults to the pleasures of reading to those young and old.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to find books in Kigali and around Rwanda to read aloud.
