{"id":12683,"date":"2014-02-22T05:56:28","date_gmt":"2014-02-22T05:56:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/google-unveils-smartphone-with-3d-sensors\/"},"modified":"2014-02-22T05:55:25","modified_gmt":"2014-02-22T05:55:25","slug":"google-unveils-smartphone-with-3d-sensors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/google-unveils-smartphone-with-3d-sensors\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Unveils Smartphone With 3D Sensors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google has unveiled a prototype smartphone with &#8220;customised hardware and software&#8221; that enables it to create 3D maps of a user&#8217;s surroundings.<br \/>\nThe device&#8217;s sensors allow it make over 250,000 3D measurements every second and update its position in real-time.<\/p>\n<p>Google said potential applications may include indoor mapping, helping the visually-impaired navigate unfamiliar indoor places unassisted and gaming.<\/p>\n<p>It has offered 200 prototypes to developers keen to make apps for it.<\/p>\n<p>Google said its Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) unit developed the phone as part of a project called Project Tango with help from researchers at various institutions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are physical beings that live in a 3D world.
