He was delivering the day’s sermons under the theme, “Reaffirming our National Identity, Cornerstone to a bright future\u201d in an annual event named \u201cThanksgiving Prayer Breakfast\u201d which was held at Kigali Serena Hotel.<\/p>\n
Pastor Rutayisire said \u201cThere was a time when the very same people who should have protected us were the ones killing us\u201d<\/p>\n
Rutayisire who used to hate Hutus because of the way they treated him as a Tutsi, also added that \u201cI would have fought the Habyarimana regime if I had means. He had created a country where some Rwandans felt less Rwandan\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were meant to be one, cohesive people, with one language. Sadly, we divided ourselves into smaller groups!\u201d He stressed<\/p>\n
While commenting on Ndi Umunyarwanda program, he said that the later means social cohesion, equality and one nation under one God.<\/p>\n
