{"id":11600,"date":"2013-11-29T00:43:09","date_gmt":"2013-11-29T00:43:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/allegations-that-cow-isolates-tanzania-and\/"},"modified":"2013-11-29T00:43:03","modified_gmt":"2013-11-29T00:43:03","slug":"allegations-that-cow-isolates-tanzania-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/allegations-that-cow-isolates-tanzania-and\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cAllegations that CoW isolates Tanzania and Bujumbura are simply politics\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-3957 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/970beac-presidents.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>A railway line connecting Tanga and Kilimanjaro to Mombasa port is in the offing as Nairobi officially kick-started a mega railway project connecting Mombasa, Kampala and Kigali.<\/p>\n<p>Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said while inaugurating the cross- border railway line project that allegations that Nairobi has teamed up with Kampala and Kigali to isolate Dar es Salaam and Bujumbura \u2018\u2019are simply politics.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-3956 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/kenyatta-centre-launched-the-railway-in-mombasa.jpg\" alt=\"Kenyatta launched the railway in-mombasa\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe time for politics is over and now it\u2019s time to work so let\u2019s stop the talking,\u201d said Mr Kenyatta after one Mombasa provincial official warned against plans to isolate Tanzania in the process of East African integration. President Kenyatta said the Mombasa, Kampala to Kigali railway line is just the beginning of implementing a regional integration project which will later extend to Kilimanjaro and Tanga.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just the beginning as we move towards integration of East Africa region,\u201d the Kenyan leader pointed out as five EAC leaders converge in the Ugandan capital for a summit on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Reiterating that time for politics is over and that the Jubilee administration was moving towards implementation of the EAC integration, Mr Kenyatta emphasised that no member country in the region is being isolated.<\/p>\n<p>The 13.5 billion-railway project linking the Kenyan port of Mombasa to Kigali branching to Kampala is due for completion in 2018.
