At the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, Louise Mushikiwabo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda visited China from April 29 to May 2, 2015.
Rwandan Minister, Mushikiwabo talked with her Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi and discussed on bilateral cooperation. They further resolved to pursue their efforts to deepen the two countries’ bilateral relations through the completion of meaningful projects in the sectors of cultural exchanges, tourism, human resource development, health services and most importantly, industrial cooperation extended within the East Africa regional context. The two countries also agreed to scale up frequency of their bilateral political consultations.
Min. Mushikiwabo expressed gratefulness for the role the Government of China has played in the current status Rwanda’s development, and in Africa.
Throughout the Visit, Rwandan Infrastructure Minister, James Musoni and The Chairperson of SINOHYDRO signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will allow to implement the project of hydropower station of Nyabugogo II and Mutobo Project station.
The two Ministers were delighted and encouraged to see these agreements adopting a private-public partnership (PPP) format, which they saw as the most indicated vehicle for successful implementation.
Minister Mushikiwabo is accompanied by Rwandan Minister of Infrastructure, James Musoni and different officers from the sectors of economy, infrastructure, business and investment.
