  • 10 reasons why holding back sex is actually a good idea

    {What happened to the good old days when a man waits to have sex with his partner? We were taught as men while growing up that if you love a woman, you will wait for her.}

    I don’t see that happening this days as the emphasis on sex is so high these days. I see young men brag about the number of women they have slept with and all I do is shake my head.

    Sex is a wonderful experience but waiting to have sex with that special one makes it super wonderful.

    Below are 10 reasons why holding back sex is actually a good idea

    1. Most guys that claim to love a woman are actually only interested in having sex with her. If he truly loves you, he should wait for you.

    2. You protect yourself from sexually transmitted diseases when you wait for sex.

    3. The fear of getting pregnant (or getting her pregnant) is eliminated.

    4. When you wait for sex, you never have to live with that feeling of being used when he drops you and starts screwing someone else.

    5. No guy can talk about you because you’re are the only one who knows what your body looks like.

    6. When you wait for sex, you don’t have to worry about people using you for sex.

    7. When you wait for sex, no one can call you a slut.

    8. You don’t have to regret sleeping with someone when you wait for sex.

    9. When you wait for sex, you don’t get any rumours about you from the people you slept with.

    10. When you wait for sex, you’re able to have more self respect.

  • Uganda:Serere man kills four family members, commits suicide

    {Tragedy befell Serere District after a man killed his two wives, two children and committed suicide. The incident happened in Omagara parish, Kyere Sub-county.
    According to police in Serere, the rotting bodies of the women and children were recovered on Saturday evening in a bush near his home while the body of the man was still fresh last Sunday morning.}

    Serere District police commander Jimmy Anthony Oyuku identified the deceased as Moses Ogwang, 30, Esther Ariamo, 30, and Beatrice Aguti, the mother of young children Akol and Ogwang.

    Mr Oyuku told this newspaper that Ogwang, who was said to be frustrated, killed his official wife an d two children at home and went to a landing site and picked up Aguti and killed her. Aguti’s body was later found dropped in a swamp near Ogwang’s home.

    Mr Oyuku said the police recovered a letter on the body of Ariamo stating that Ogwang was complaining that there was someone meddling in his marriage.

    “It’s a very unfortunate matter. Much as Ogwang had a marriage problem within his family, he would have used appropriate ways of solving it because I believe there are clan members or relevant authorities to sort it out rather than kill,” Mr Oyuku said.
    He said the police are still investigating the incident. He asked residents of Kyeye Sub- county not to engage in such criminal acts.

  • 11 compliments every woman is dying to hear from her man

    {There are certain things you would tell a woman who would make her feel loved and appreciated. Every woman loves a compliment; every woman loves to be told beautiful things, and she would love it even more if it’s coming from her man.}

    Compliments make a relationship more beautiful, and some compliments would make a woman feel loved.

    Below are some of those compliments she’s dying to hear from you:

    {{1. YOU ARE A WIFE MATERIAL}}

    Every woman loves to know she would make a good wife; you would hardly see a woman who doesn’t want commitment from her man. As it would hurt her to know she would be a terrible wife is the same way it would please her to hear how wonderful she’d be as a wife.

    {{2. I LOVE YOUR…}}

    There is a reason we always ask our man to tell us what he loves about us — almost every woman does this. This is because every woman loves to be complimented about certain parts of their bodies or things they do. So whenever you tell her how deeply in love you are with her eyes or how you love her legs, she would feel great within.

    {{3. I’M HAPPY TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE}}

    Every woman loves to hear how important she is to her man and how happy he is to have her. Every woman loves to know she makes her man happy, so telling her this would definitely thrill her.

    {{4. YOU’RE THE BEST GIRLFRIEND EVER}}

    Every woman loves to be termed as the best girlfriend ever; she loves to know that she’s better than all your exes and she isn’t in competition with any of them.

    {{5. YOU ARE A GOOD COOK}}

    This is one compliment women never get tired of hearing. No matter how many times you have told her how great a cook she is, she would always want to hear it. Women love when their cooking is appreciated time after time.

    {{6. YOU’RE GREAT IN BED}}

    Every woman doesn’t want to be seen as below par in the sex department also. She knows that there are other women who are outstanding in the act, so she loves to hear that her man enjoys her just as much.

    Every woman love it when she knows she can take her man places in bed.

    {{7. YOU HAVE A GOOD CHARACTER/PERSONALITY}}

    Every woman loves to be told that her attitude is nice; she knows men often complain about the character and attitude of women, so she wouldn’t want to be classified as such.

    Even the women with the worst personality love to be hailed character wise.

    {{8. YOU LOOK LOVELY IN THAT OUTFIT}}

    This is one of those compliments a woman never gets tired of hearing. When a woman dresses up, the first person she wants to compliment her is her man; when her dress sense is complimented, she feels more confident.

    {{9. YOU ARE IRREPLACEABLE}}

    This is one compliment that would go down to the deepest part of her heart. A compliment as this one would melt a woman’s heart, especially if it’s genuine.

    If she knows that she holds a special place in your heart to be termed irreplaceable then she would feel extra special.

    {{10. I LOVE THE WAY YOU ARE}}

    Every woman knows that she has certain flaws which might not really be accepted by a lot of men; worse still, a lot of women aren’t comfortable with their flaws and this could make them a bit edgy, especially when she’s with her man for the first time.

    Telling her you love the way she is would definitely make her feel loved and accepted in spite of her flaws. This is probably the reason why Bruno Mars hit track “Just the way you are” was such a wonderful song that was generally accepted by the ladies.

    {{11. YOU HAVE A GREAT BODY}}

    No woman wants to be considered as fat, dry, shapeless and the lot. A woman can sometimes feel insecure about her body; but telling her how much you are in love with her body would thrill her mind.

    A lot of relationships and marriages these days lack the simple thrill of a compliment; couples are so busy with their lives that they forget to say how beautiful their partner look.

    Complimenting your partner would only make your relationship lovely. Thrill your lady with these compliments; she’s dying to hear them.

    You can’t be successful if you always doubt yourself. Self-doubt will never bring you close to your dreams of being successful. Self-doubt creates the negative cycle that ends up killing your dreams.

    {{2. HOUSEHOLD CHORES}}

    Not discussing this might lead to issues so quick in your marriage. Most men expect their wife to do it all but sharing household chores between partners help foster unity in the home.

  • Anti-blasphemy protesters clash with police in Pakistan

    {Army called in as thousands march in Islamabad protesting against execution of Mumtaz Qadri, who murdered governor.}

    Thousands of protesters have clashed with police near parliament in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, against the execution of a man charged with murdering a governor for his criticism of blasphemy laws.

    Police fired tear gas to stop an estimated 25,000 protesters, some of whom tried to forcibly enter the security zone of the capital, dubbed the red zone.

    Al Jazeera’s Kamal Hyder, reporting from Islamabad, said that military was called in to take over security in the red zone.

    “Their main task will be to secure the zone that includes parliament, Pakistan Television, the foreign office, the Supreme Court and diplomatic enclave,” he said.

    Protesters marched from the garrison town of Rawalpindi to Islamabad in solidarity with Mumtaz Qadri, who was charged and executed for the murder of Punjab province governor Salman Taseer.

    “The crowd is massive and the police used blockades and tear gas on protesters as they were getting out of control,” Sami Yousafzai, who was present at the protest site told Al Jazeera.

    “They want the blasphemy law to be active and anyone who says anything blasphemous about Prophet Muhammad should be executed.”

    Peace and tolerance

    Taseer was shot 28 times by Qadri, his bodyguard, in January 2011 for defending a Christian woman jailed on blasphemy charges.

    The protest leaders said they would hold a sit-in until their demands were met, but did not specify what their demands were.

    According to Dr Mufti Akeel Ur Rehman Pirzada, Chairman of the Pakistan’s Ulama Aman committee (a committee of Islamic scholars to promote peace), the protest is aimed to pressurise the government for certain demands and “cause unrest”.

    “Their first demand is to punish people convicted of blasphemy, for example Asia Bibi who was charged with allegedly desecrating the Quran,” he told Al Jazeera.

    “If our people don’t understand the Sharia (Islamic law) properly, our community will never be educated. They will always go for violence instead of peace and tolerance.”

    About 100,000 people attended Mumtaz Qadri’s funeral as he has been labelled as a hero, highlighting the support for such people in the society.

    The protest was blacked out by the Pakistani media after the government banned it fearing unrest.

    Singer-turned preacher attacked

    Meanwhile, Junaid Jamshed, a pop star-turned preacher, was attacked when he was leaving Islamabad airport on Saturday night.

    He has been mostly living abroad since 2014 when he made a comment that was said to be an insult to one of the wives of the prophet.

    After the attack, Jamshed tweetted: “I wish I wasn’t travelling alone. A little distressed with what happened.”

    “Its about time [we] as a nation decide that [we] will not let these religious fanatics prevail amongst us.”

    More than 100 people are charged with blasphemy each year in Pakistan, a predominantly Muslim nation of 180 million, many of them Christians or people from other minorities.

    Conviction of blasphemy carries a death sentence in Pakistan, but no one has yet been hanged.

  • Uganda:Four million can’t afford two meals

    {Because of poverty, more than four million Ugandans, representing 11.8 per cent of the population can’t afford two meals a day, according to the 2014 National Population and Housing Census.}

    For instance, more than four million people, according to the report, consume one meal a day. Of these 11.9 per cent are in rural areas and 11.4 per cent in towns.

    At least 51.4 per cent (about 18 million) of Uganda can afford two meals yet only 34.6 per cent can afford three meals a day.

    The report, which was launched last week also shows that nearly 18 million people use kerosene lamps also known as tadooba for lighting, something which exposes them to lung cancer.

    The World Bank estimates that inhaling kerosene fumes is the equivalent of smoking two packets of cigarettes a day and two-thirds of adult females with lung cancer in developing nations like Uganda are non-smokers but suffer air pollution.

    Although the 2014 National Population and Housing Census shows that the percentage of Ugandans using tadooba has slightly reduced from 74.8 per cent (more than 18.2 million people) cent in 2002 to 52 per cent (more than 17.9 million), because of poverty, kerosene lamps are still widely used for lighting in rural and urban areas where distribution of electricity is either unavailable, or too costly.

    At least 60 per cent of the total population in rural areas used tadooba compared to 25 per cent in urban areas.

    However, those using electricity have increased from 7.8 per cent in 2002 to 20 per cent in 2014. In rural areas, the number has increased from 3 per cent to 10 per cent over the same period.

    There are 27.2 million people living in villages and only 7.4 million living in towns.

    Although the 2014 census data paints a rosy picture of the economy, it also reveals the extent of poverty in the country.

    The data provides insights into the changes which have taken place since 2002 and highlights black spots in the service delivery chain where government needs to focus attention in the next five years.

    The population has increased from 24.4 million in 2002 to 34.6 million in 2014.
