    German City Legalises Public Nudity

    {{The Germany city of Munich has created designated “urban naked zones” where nudists can strip off without the risk of arrest.}}

    Officials in the city of Munich, in southern Germany, have declared six designated zones where naturists are invited to strip off and walk around in their birthday suits without the risk of being arrested.

    While the nudists areas do offer some privacy, they are neither hidden nor fenced off from the general public and are instead located in public parks with one as little as a ten minute walk away from the city’s main square.

    The city – which is the third largest in Germany – decided to introduce the “urban naked zones” after pre-existing laws on public nudity expired.

    France: Environment Minister Orders Staff to “Dress Appropriately”

    {{Ségolène Royal {above}, French President François Hollande’s former partner and the mother of his four children, has denied claims she ordered female staff at the Environment Ministry to “dress appropriately” and avoid revealing tops.}}

    The report, published by French weekly Le Point on Thursday, claimed Royal, who joined Hollande’s Socialist government following a cabinet reshuffle earlier this month, had also banned smoking in the ministry’s courtyard and gardens in her presence.

    Denying the “ridiculous rumours” on her Twitter account, Royal said the only instruction she had given colleagues was to be sparing in their use of public funds.

    This is not the first such report to emerge in the French press.

    Last week, L’Express, another French weekly, said the new environment minister had also banned the “bise”, France’s traditional cheek kiss, urging staff to greet her with a more formal handshake instead.

    A formal presidential runner-up, Royal, 60, has made a remarkable comeback after a string of political setbacks, including a humiliating defeat in parliamentary elections in 2012.

    She has been criticized in the past for her allegedly dictatorial behavior and is often described by French media as the “Iron Lady”.

  • Sleeping Habits Say Alot About Your Love Life

    Sleeping Habits Say Alot About Your Love Life

    {The positions we sleep in can say a lot about our relationships: The Liberty – back to back but not touching – shows a couple feels connected whilst independent enough to sleep separately}

    {{But despite our efforts to ward off intimacy as we are trying to fall asleep, psychologists say it is the positions we take up when actually deep in sleep that reveal how we really feel about each other.}}

    During sleep, you cannot fake your body language, this is the time when you are honest and vulnerable and your sleeping position can therefore reveal a lot about your relationship.

    Relationship psychologist Corrine Sweet and the Travelodge hotel group have investigated what Britons’ sleeping positions say about their relationship.

    Sweet said: ‘Couples fall into habitual ways of sleeping together that suits their personalities and personal preferences.

    ‘These are negotiated at the outset, so if something changes in how they sleep together, this can reflect a change in their relationship and cause concern for the other partner.’

    {{The Cherish – back to back but touching – means a couple are comfortable, intimate and relaxed with each other}}

    {{Spoons – male with the female on the inside – this is a traditional position in which the male takes the lead and protects his lover}}

    {{+9
    Pillow Talk – face to face – this position represents an intimate need for one-to-one contact and conversation in bed}}

    +9
    Lovers Knot or Lovers – face to face with legs intertwined – if couples separate after 10 minutes it demonstrates a loving independence, if legs intertwined all night it means you cannot bear to be separated

    She added: ‘Individual psychological states also affect how we sleep and the positions we sleep in, so if we are stressed we may be irritable, and not want to snuggle up with our partner. Arguments often lead to sleeping wide apart, as people feel loathe to touch.’

    ‘Inevitably, once the first flush of lust wears off, with couples naked and entwined, it is more likely that the need for a good night’s sleep predominates, so sleeping back to back becomes a favourable position in bed.’

    The research highlighted a new trend for sleeping apart. Nowadays one in 10 couples admits to sleeping separately from their partner in the quest for a good night’s sleep. Alarmingly a quarter of couples in their sexual prime age (35 and above) are considering sleeping in separate beds.

    Couples not in favour of having their own bed are still vying for more space between the sheets with more than half now opting for a King Size bed and over a quarter considering an upgrade from their standard double.

    THE MOST POPULAR SLEEPING POSITIONS AND WHAT THEY MEAN
    1. LIBERTY: Back to back but not touching (28%)
    This couple feel connected whilst independent enough to sleep separately. They are used to each other and accept each other’s sleeping habits.

    2. CHERISH: Back to back but touching (18%)
    This couple are comfortable, intimate and relaxed with each other. A popular position in a new relationship.

    3. SPOONS (MALE): Male spoons with the female on the inside (13%)
    This is a traditional position, in which the male takes the lead and protects his lover. Couples sleep side-by-side each curled up with each other in the foetal position. Traditional spooning is the most common position adopted by couples during the first few years of their relationship or marriage. It shows both a strong sexuality and feeling of security in the relationship

    4. PILLOW TALK: Face to face (7%)
    This position represents an intimate need for one-to-one contact and conversation in bed.

    5. LOVERS KNOT: Face to face, legs intertwined for 10 minutes then couples separate to sleep (8%)
    This position demonstrates a loving independence, it’s a sign of intimacy, love and sexual activity – even though the couple separate and sleep apart.

    6. SPOONS (FEMALE): Spoons with the female on the outside (5%)
    In this position the female takes the lead and protects her man while he is sleeping.

    7. THE LOVERS: Face to face with legs intertwined all night (4%)
    This is love’s young dream position where you cannot bear to be separated as each moment together counts. A position for the born romantics.

    8. THE ROMANTIC: Woman lying with head and arm on man’s chest (1%)
    This is the popular Hollywood movie bed scene position. An intimate pose much favoured in a new relationship or after love making. It represents new / rekindled love.

    9. SUPERWOMAN: Woman lying in star fish position with man hanging off the bed (1%)
    The woman rules the bed in this position, she likes her space and the man takes a secondary role and lets her take it.

    10. SUPERMAN: Man lying in star fish position with woman hanging off the bed (1%)
    In this position the male is king of the bed, he likes to have his way and the female is happy to oblige.

    The sleep behaviour report also found that one in four couples constantly argues in bed because they are kept awake by their partners sleeping habits.

    The survey also revealed that more than half of people questioned said they felt their sex life was better if they ‘cuddled-up’ more. More men at 67% responded that their sex life was better if they cuddled more during the night. 34% of men said that it annoyed them if their partner did not cuddle them in bed in comparison to 26% of women.

    Experts have stated longevity of a marriage is enhanced when couples fall asleep and wake up at the same time. Couples who go to sleep together and get up at the same time are content in their relationship.

    Over half of adults can tell if their partner is cheating on them by the way they sleep. Nearly two thirds of women are more vigilant under the duvet and can detect if their other half is playing away by his bedroom antics. Nearly one in 10 men have made the cardinal sin and called their wife or girlfriend the wrong name in bed.

    Spoons – with the female on the outside – in this position the female takes the lead and protects her man while he is sleeping

    The Romantic – woman lying with head and arm on man’s chest – this is the popular Hollywood movie bed scene position. An intimate pose much favoured in a new relationship or after love making

    Superwoman – woman lying in star fish position with man hanging off the bed – the woman rules the bed in this position, she likes her space and the man takes a secondary role and lets her take it

    Superman – man lying in star fish position with woman hanging off the bed – in this position the male is king of the bed, he likes to have his way and the female is happy to oblige

    And what about those that sleep alone?

    Symbolically curled positions in sleep mean ‘I want to trust others and feel safe’.
    Bodies stretched out in sleep mean ‘I want to take charge and experience adventure’.
    Hands curled inwards mean “I want to cuddle and connect’.

    Hands wrapped around a pillow can indicate a cuddly nature. If hands and/or arms are held, or pressed tightly, or straight down at the sides it means ‘I want to be alone’.
    Sleeping on your stomach temporarily typically shows you are anxious or feel things are out of control and need to protect the vulnerable front of your body.

    An individual who always sleeps on his/her stomach but with arms bent and hands up around the head in a crown position is showing she/he is persistent, goal oriented, compulsive and stubborn.

  • Global Adultery Website Blocked

    Global Adultery Website Blocked

    {{South Korea has blocked the newly launched Korean version of the global adultery hook-up site Ashley Madison, saying on Wednesday that it threatened family values in a country where marital infidelity is a crime.}}

    The Korean site of the Canada-based company’s slogan: “Life is short. Have an affair” – went online in the middle of last month, garnering close to 50 000 subscribers in its first week.

    Under a 1953 statute that criminalises adultery, an unfaithful spouse in South Korea can receive a prison sentence of up to two years for conducting an affair.

    The Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC), a largely government-appointed body, said the website was an incitement to immorality.

    “In light of the legal spirit of relevant laws aimed to protect healthy sexual morals, marriage bonds and family life, KCSC decided to block access to the site which incites adultery,” the commission said in a statement.

    “There is a great danger of this site spreading bad behaviour and seriously undermining legal order by aiding or abetting in adultery,” it added.

    Universal activity

    South Korea is the second Asian country to block Ashley Madison after Singapore, which barred access in November for similar reasons.

    The website is no stranger to Asia, having already launched in Japan, India and Hong Kong.

    Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman believes the South Korean law is “hopelessly outdated” but still heeded legal advice not to attend the South Korea launch in person.

    He insists that his website simply facilitates an activity that is universal and crosses all social and geographical boundaries.

    “Infidelity is present in Asian culture, in the same way that it is present in every other culture in the world,” he said in a recent telephone interview from New York.

    South Korea’s adultery law is not much of a deterrent, and conviction usually results in a suspended sentence rather than actual jail time.

    As an offence, it can only be prosecuted on complaint, and any case is closed as soon as the plaintiff drops the charge.

    Whereas 216 people were given prison terms under the law in 2004, that figure had dropped to 42 by 2008.

    But it remains on the statute books, despite half a dozen referrals for review to the country’s Constitutional Court, and there is no great groundswell of opinion to have it removed.

    In 2011, a Christian pastor was jailed for 18 months for having a decade-long affair with a woman whose wedding he had officiated at, after her husband named them both in an adultery complaint.

  • Beard Fashion is ‘Guided by Evolution’

    Beard Fashion is ‘Guided by Evolution’

    {{The flow of men’s beard fashions may be guided by Darwinian selection, according to a new study.

    The more beards there are, the less attractive they become – giving clean-shaven men a competitive advantage, say scientists in Sydney, Australia.}}

    They asked women and men to rate the appeal of different faces with “four standard levels of beardedness”.

    The team’s study has been published in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters.

    In the experiment, both beards and clean-shaven faces became more attractive when they were rare.

    The pattern mirrors an evolutionary phenomenon – “negative frequency-dependent sexual selection”, or to put it more simply “an advantage to rare traits”.

    The bright colours of male guppies vary by this force – which is driven by females’ changing preferences.

    Scientists at the University of New South Wales decided to test this hypothesis for men’s facial hair – recruiting volunteers on their Facebook site, The Sex Lab.

    “Big thick beards are back with an absolute vengeance and so we thought underlying this fashion, one of the dynamics that might be important is this idea of negative frequency dependence,” said Prof Rob Brooks, one of the study’s authors.

    “The idea is that perhaps people start copying the George Clooneys and the Joaquin Phoenixs and start wearing those beards, but then when more and more people get onto the band wagon the value of being on the bandwagon diminishes, so that might be why we’ve hit ‘peak beard’.”

    “Peak beard” was the climax of the trend for beards in professions not naturally associated with a bristly chin – bankers, film stars, and even footballers began sporting facial hair.

    ome argue the peak ended in January, when Jeremy Paxman, the BBC Newsnight presenter, shaved his beard off, saying “beards are SO 2013”.

    In the experiment, 1,453 women and 213 men were asked to rate the attractiveness of different samples of men’s faces.

    Some were shown mostly “full” beards. Others were shown mostly clean-shaven faces. A third group were shown an even mixture of all four varieties – clean-shaven, light stubble, heavy stubble and full beard.

    Both women and men judged heavy stubble and full beards more attractive when presented in treatments where beards were rare than when they were common.

    Likewise, clean-shaven faces were least attractive when common and more attractive when rare.

    “Negative frequency-dependent preferences may therefore play a role in maintaining variation in men’s beards and contributing to changing fashions,” the researchers conclude.

    They plan to continue their pogonophilic investigations and are looking for volunteers for their latest experiment testing how people like faces with varying levels of beardedness.

  • Know When He’s Getting Serious About You

    Know When He’s Getting Serious About You

    {{Somewhere between the first few butterfly-inducing dates and the committed-for-life stage, there’s the period of wondering if you’re both on the same page about how serious you feel about a future together. }}

    If you’re not quite at the point of That Talk but you’re looking for a few clues you’re heading in that direction, here are some signs he’s in it for the long haul as your relationship progresses.

    {{He takes you on non-drinking dates}}. Nothing wrong with a few cocktails on dates, whether you’ve been out twice or for 20 years. But the beginning of a relationship tends to be pretty socially lubricated, so when he starts asking you to hang out in broad daylight without a beer, he’s getting comfortable with you.

    He expects that you have plans even when you don’t make them. In the beginning, he asks, “What are your plans for this weekend?” to see if you’re available. When he’s serious, he asks, “What are our plans for this weekend?” because he just assumes you’ll want to be together.

    {{He brings you along to his regular activities}}. Taking you to a big deal event like a wedding is, of course, an important sign in its own right. But for stuff like that, people expect him to bring a date, and plus, that’s only for one night.

    On the other hand, if he’s bringing you to a usual thing he does frequently, like to his weekly Sunday-night dinners with his friends, he’s doing it because he wants to and because he plans to have you around for a long time.

    {{He talks about you when you’re not there}}. Especially to people who matter. “Once when we were first dating, my boyfriend mentioned off-handedly that he’d shown my picture to his parents,” says a friend of mine. Four years later, both he and his parents still love her.

    {{He makes room for you and expects you to do the same}}. It might be a cliche since the time Carrie Bradshaw unsuccessfully tried to leave a hair-dryer at Big’s, but most guys seem to agree: If they’re intentionally leaving a toothbrush at your place or offering you drawer space at theirs, they mean business.

    {{He lets you see how he actually acts with his friends}}. Introducing you to his friends is one big step, but those first few times, he’ll probably order them all to be on their best behavior.

    When they start acting like the loud, dorky, possibly obnoxious-at-times dudes they really are, even when you’re there, they all see you as a permanent fixture in his life who can handle the truth.

    {{He stops trying to impress you quite as much}}. You certainly don’t want a guy who takes you for granted, but hear me out. A guy who’s always on his best behavior is still in the stages of trying to win you over. That stage is fun, but it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s sure about you.

    A secure guy will let you come over when his bed isn’t made or disagree with you about that movie you loved even if it makes you mad.

    If he still makes you feel special and loved but does so while letting you see that he’s just a regular human with bodily functions and a few bad habits, it’s because he thinks you’re the right one for the real him.

    2013 Miss Universe Winner Drags Organisers to Court

    {{Miss Universe Ghana, 19-year-old Hanniel Jamin, has sued Roberta Annan Consulting (RAC), organisers of the pageant in Ghana, for breach of contract.}}

    Hanniel, after winning the pageant in May 2013, was to receive GH¢5,000 worth of wardrobe, a New York Film Academy scholarship, a management and public relations deal, and a year’s gym membership, monthly fees and a trip to the world event in addition to other attractive packages.

    However, she says she has not received her full prize package. She also alleged that when she was processing her documents to travel to Russia to represent Ghana at the Miss Universe World event, the organizers made her sign a document which suggested she had received her prizes.

    Hanniel was in May 2013 crowned winner of the 2013 edition of the Miss Universe Ghana pageant at a ceremony held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

    Judges for the event were Leila Lopez, 2011 Miss Universe winner; popular actress Yvonne Nelson; presenter Benny Blanco; Brian D. Hogan, founder of investment firm Paradigm Capital Group; and model Veronica Varekova.

    Sources revealed that organizers were served with the writ sometime last week. This is the second time a queen had taken organizers of the Miss Universe Ghana to court over the prize package.

    The first was Miss Gifty Ofori, Miss Universe Ghana 2012, who took the organizers to court last year after she came out to complain that she did not receive her full prize package.
