    Southern province crowns miss

    {On Saturday, all roads led to Huye town where representatives of the Southern Province in the 2014 Miss Rwanda pageant were picked during a glamorous event.}

    The venue, the auditorium of the University of Rwanda’s College of Humanities and Arts, was filled up by an expectant, ecstatic audience.

    Belise Hitayezu, 19, in her S.6 vacation; beat the rest to the regional crown after. The former ENPD Karubanda student was followed by Mouna Dukundewho (first runner-up) and Lydia Kayitesi, who emerged second runner-up.

    The panel was composed of Jolie Murenzi, Wilson Ruyenzi and Mike Karangwa. Only the City of Kigali is yet to pick their reps for the national level contest.

    Miss Rwanda 2014 finals are slated for February 22 while the Ministry of Sports and Culture is organizing the event together with East African Promoters, with Mutzig and Cogebanque the sponsors.

    Urban Boys set for Europe tour

    { After setting the Crowd on fire in Rwandan night while in Kampala at Club rouge the 1st runners-up of Guma Guma primus superstar 2013 are set to leave the country for a European tour on March 3rd 2014. }

    The tour starts in Belgium on March 8, as the band performs at this year’s Miss and Mister Rwanda/Belgium. It is the second time the group will be performing at the event after their performance in October last year.

    The Rwandan superstars are set to leave the country on March 3rd 2014.

    “We are definitely ready for the tour and our fans should expect electrifying performances,” said Safi Lee.

    “This is certainly a busy year for us because from Europe, we shall stage another concert in Dubai,” he added.

    Peaking to Journalist Safi Lee, the group’s front man said they will also perform at different venues across Belgium and in France. The tour ends in Switzerland early April.

    The Take It Off singers are currently working on their latest single, Chagua, featuring Jay Polly and the song will be released this month with a video.

    Teta Diana releases song “Canga ikarita”

    {Rwandan Musician and TPF5 star Diana Teta, who sings both traditional and mainstream music is set to release her new song « Canga ikakarita »(which means looking for money) today.

    At the age of 21, she is ruling the airwaves with hit singles, performing with big names in traditional music, acting in theater and writing songs.

    Diana Teta is currently the female behind the hit song “Fata Fata” and the only female in Gakondo Music group.

    Téta commonly records as a solo artist, and mainstreams music such as reggae, RnB and jazz.

    However, when she is in her Gakondo Music group she does traditional music.

    Gakondo group is composed of big names popular in the Rwandan music industry like Masamba intore, Jules sentore, Daniel Ngarukiye, Michel Ngabo and others.

    She started recording in 2009 after coming in the top three in a singing competition that was conducted by à German group.

    After that she was offered a recording opportunity whereby she managed to record two songs.

    Although she didn’t put much effort into promoting the songs because she wanted to go for Tusker Project Fame 5.

    In 2012, she tried TPF but was eliminated in the first round but on her way back she thought about joining the music industry.

    After some serious thought, she made a decision to join the music industry and It’s been a year since she started doing music professionally.

    According to Téta, her plans for the year 2014 is working hard on, audios and vidéos although her video “Undi munsi” project is still on as it was ranked the best among others yesterday at magic F.M.

    Why Dominic Nic will not compete for Salax Awards 2014

    {Dominic Nic will not participate in this year’s Salax Awards competition due to his own reasons that he refused to deeply tell the media.

    Dominic Nic is a Rwandan artist and Gospel music writer.

    Speaking to IGIHE.com, Dominic Nic told this site’s showbiz reporter that “Possibly, people were astonished after hearing my nonattendance in the competition, however, I, myself, have asked organizers of this competition to not put me on the list of those who will participate. There is one month after I wrote a letter requesting that and I would like to thank the organizers to have responded to my request positively.”

    Although this artist refused to tell us more on why he will not participate in the competition, he reveals that “in the forthcoming months” he will be organizing other events including the concert that will take place in Musanze District and many other activities including personal ones”

    {Renowned Rwandan singer, Knowles Butera, is expected to travel to Dubai, where she is to take video images for her third album.}

    She will be accompanied by her colleagues from Kina Music Studio.

    Their departure from Kigali to Dubai is planned for this Saturday, January 11, 2013.

    Knowles will be accompanied by not only her audio music producer, Clément (People say he’s her lover) but also with Meddy Saleh who is responsible for the production of video images.

    This Rwandan musician entrusted to IGIHE that “Apart from her colleagues mentioned before, Tom Close, may accompany him but it is not confirmed yet.”

    She said that her preference to go take video in Dubai is because this city is not only attractive and the presence of many activities but also she wants to amble around in this city. Knowles also eyes Dubai as her next market of her music albums.

    She said she wants to work hard this year and also takes her music talent to the international level.

    For the first time in the Region and second after South Africa Rwanda is set to launch “street Electronic dance Music”.}

    This bash is set to take place on 28th December 2013 at the special Economic zone located Near AZAM in Ndera sector of Gasabo district.

    The bash will start from 8:00 and will be ending at 4:00 in the morning.

    Tickets will be available from 25th December 2013 on 5000 Rwandan francs at KCT, KBC, MTN Nyarutarama, and Kisment Supermarket and in foreign embassies in Rwanda.

    Electronic street bash is commonly known in Europe and the United States of America, and it’s just new in the region precisely Rwanda.

    Popular known Deejays in the world will be joining the crowd on this occasion and some of them include; Dj-Africano (South Africa), Dj Pang (USA), Sammy VenKen (Belgium) with Toxxyc and Makeda from Rwanda

    {Heritage – Umurage is a non-profit organization created in October 2012 by young montrealers originated from Rwanda. Full of passion for their culture and traditions, they aim to promote values such as peace, solidarity and love through dance, music and poems.}

    For the 2nd consecutive time, the group is organizing its annual cultural show themed “Inkera Iwacu”

    “Inkera Iwacu” comes from Kinyarwanda language and refers to old traditional gatherings where families, friends, neighbors used to meet in a festive spirit and the highlights would be dancing, singing and Rwandese fairytales.

    The show on December 28th will take you to the country of a thousand hills and thousands smiles.

    For this 2nd edition, the voice of the talented Rwandan artist Vang’Inanga will warm this unique show with different traditional musical instruments. Other artists will also perform.

    Rwandan Artist wants MONUSCO to escort him during his tour in DRC

    {Masamba Intore, a Rwandan artist, wants the UN peacekeeping forces under MONUSCO to accompany him during his visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The artist is expected to participate in the party that was organized by Ndule Awards.}

    The party is in line with thanking DR Congo’s President Joseph Kabila for his significant contribution in the stabilization of the Eastern part of DRC.

    Speaking to this site, Masamba was concerned with security issues and that’s why he wishes to be accompanied by MONUSCO forces.

    MONUSCO was tasked by UN Security Council to reestablish peace and security in the war torn part of the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo as well as protecting civilian from rebels’ attacks.

    Masamba said that he fears that Congolese may attack him due to the fact that Congo has been accusing Rwanda to support the recent defeated M23 rebels.

    Commenting on the invitation of participating in Ndule awards event, Masamba explains that “They have invited me to join other region artists in an event that aims to celebrate the stability that was reestablished in Goma City after long period of war in that region”
