  • The internet is completely losing it over Jay Z’s response to those “Lemonade” rumors

JAY-Z’s long-awaited thirteenth album 4:44 dropped on Friday, and already the internet is going wild dissecting the ten tracks.

As Yahoo claims it, Jay Z appears to have finally responded to what was widely perceived as his infidelity in his marriage to Beyoncé on his new album 4:44. On the album’s title track “4:44,” he even explicitly says “I apologize.”

The rapper himself shared an explanation for each of the songs, but fans were quick to parse even further meaning from his rhymes: seizing on an apparent response to new mother of twins’ Beyoncé’s 2016 visual album Lemonade, which tells a story of infidelity and redemption. Fans wondered how Hov would address the rumors that the crazy in love were less than picture-perfect.

According to the internet, 4:44 comes through and then some, with JAY-Z addressing his wife’s narrative directly. And fans are, predictably, overwhelmed. Some people have called out direct parallels between lines in Beyoncé’s Lemonade and JAY-Z’s 4:44, while others are just freaking out about the apparent public response. For now, casual observers will have to trust the Twitterverse’s take: only Sprint and Tidal subscribers have access to the album at this time.

  • Nzayisenga features on American musician

Jeremy Danneman, the American Jazz Musician, has unveiled an album that features Sophie Nzayisenga, a Rwandan woman who earned fame for playing Inanga (trough-zither), a local music instrument. Jeremy is mainly a Jazz musician but plays many other different styles.

Speaking to IGIHE, Jeremy said he met with Nzayisenga back in 2009 when the American was visiting Rwanda, the same time they started a joint music project.

“I marked my anniversary in 2009 by playing music on the streets of New York where I performed for 11 hours that very day. That is my best performance ever because I entertained people of all kinds,” said Jeremy.

He decided to come to Rwanda in March, 2009 to learn about Genocide against the Tutsi and to perform from Rwanda’s streets.

“I decided to visit Rwanda after reviewing its history especially about the genocide because my grandmother also survived the genocide against Jews (Holocaust). That similar history made me wish to perform from Rwanda’s streets during the 15th commemoration period. During my stay, I performed at schools and on streets. That’s the time I met Sophie and we performed together at Goethe Institute in Kigali,” said Jeremy.

Jeremy said he wanted to take Nzayisenga to USA to play her Inanga but visa issues delayed her until 2015 when she finally landed in the United States.

“We finally realized our target in 2015 to perform together from the USA, then embarked on an album project ‘Honey Wine’ which we unveiled on March 10th, 2017. Yes, there is some Kinyarwanda on the album, both a song called Ibeseke and the title track Honey Wine, which includes Kinyarwanda lyrics,” he said.

During her stay in the USA, the duo performed at different venues as Nzayisenga played Inanga while Jeremy played saxophone.

“When Sophie was in New York, we played at venues called Silvana and the Why Not Jazz Room. We also performed in outdoor markets and a few schools. The experience working with Sophie has been fantastic. We have never really needed to speak the same language, because we have a similar understanding of musical language. She also fit right in with my band,” Jeremy added.

Nzayisenga and Jeremy have a joint album project dubbed ‘Honey Wine’Nzayisenga Sophie entertaining spectaculars in USA.11168519_1648063545428307_6534474942879006262_n-6e9dd.jpg18056961_1945634825671176_5694521629140546385_n-8454a.jpg

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 3D premiere at Century Cinemas in Kigali

Rare comes a blockbuster; rare comes a Premiere in Kigali but on 5th of May the iconic movie mall of Kigali seduced a few with the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy, a snip of what is coming in the summer for Kigalians with movies like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Alien: Covenant, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and many more in 3D, a Rendezvous for Movie goers.

Before bragging that in Kigali we had the pleasure to watch it before its release in the US, here is the plot of the movie and my 5 reasons why you should go watch it at the Century Cinemas.

    What is the Volume 2?

Several months after Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Baby Groot were renowned as the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ayesha, leader of the Sovereign race, hires them to protect valuable batteries from an inter-dimensional monster in exchange for Gamora’s estranged sister Nebula, who was caught attempting to steal the batteries. After Rocket steals some for himself, the Sovereign attacks the Guardians’ ship with a fleet of drones. The drones are destroyed by a mysterious figure, but the Guardians are forced to crash-land on a nearby planet. The figure reveals himself as Quill’s father, Ego. He invites Quill, accompanied by Gamora and Drax, to his home planet, while Rocket and Groot remain behind to repair the ship and guard Nebula… and that is the start

In the last fifteen minutes of the movie drawn into Ego’s (Kurt Russell’s) gorgeous self-made planet by the promise of real familial connection and untold power, Peter (Chris Pratt) soon finds himself under the control of his bio dad, who it seems isn’t so much his true father as just a man fond of spreading his seed. A kind of galactic eugenicist with the ultimate goal to remake the entire universe in his image (blue, squishy and generally devoid of life) who needs Peter’s powers to complete his mission, Ego is revealed as the true villain of the film, as Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and the rest re-team to bring Peter to safety. It turns out safety is easier said than achieved, as Peter realizes he must attack the heart of the planet – Ego’s mega-sized brain with the help of Rocket’s pilfered Sovereign batteries.

But Peter isn’t quite strong enough to best Ego without an additional power source….
How will it unfold? Who is dying at the end? All is answered in the movie but meanwhile here is 5 reasons why you should watch it.

5 Reasons to grab popcorns and 3D glasses

    1. The Music: The movie starts with the Awesome mix Vol 2 and throughout the whole movie, you can stand and dance to awesome compositions.

    2. Rocket’s Winks and Drax’s hahah: It’s a comedy, besides funny and nasty jokes the acting leaves your ribs cracked and your lips with a smile.

    3. Sylvester Stallone and Miley Cyrus: Stallone aka “Rambo” appears in the movie called Stakar Ogord, one of the former Guardians and the singer Miley Cyrus lends her voice to Mainframe, an onboard talking computer.

    4. Stan Lee’s masterpiece: For the last decade, every movie inspired by a comic book has Stan working on it and he appears in this one too telling stories to the watchers who gets bored at the end and leave him there.

    5. Family Dramas and Romance: Star-Lord and Ego are fighting, Nebula and Gomora are fighting but on a positive note Ayunda and Rocket are bonding and Peter and Gomora are bonding too….. family and love matters in the outer space too.

We would give you a hundred reasons to watch this movie but we know there is a thousand regrets to you if you don’t, get to centurycinemas.rw to check the time and more details.

  • Tunisia nightclub closed after Muslim call to prayer dance remix

A nightclub in Tunisia has been shut down after footage emerged of a DJ playing a dance remix of the Muslim call to prayer, officials say.

Video shared on Sunday from the Orbit Festival in the north-eastern town of Nabeul sparked outrage on social media sites.

The governor of Nabeul, Mnaouar Ouertani, said that the club would “remain closed” until further notice.

An investigation has begun into the incident.

The footage shows clubbers at a party on Friday dancing to music played by two European DJs near the popular seaside resort of Hammamet.

The music included a dance version of the call to prayer, the religious act that Muslims perform five times a day.

“After confirming the facts, we decided to close this nightclub,” Mr Ouertani said.
He said that the club’s manager had been detained “for violation against good morals and public outrage against modesty,” adding that an investigation was under way.

“We will not allow attacks against religious feelings and the sacred,” Mr Ouertani said.

On Monday, the organisers of the Orbit Festival apologised in a post on the event’s Facebook page, but said that they did not accept responsibility for the playing of any offensive music.

The DJ “did not realise it might offend an audience from a Muslim country like ours,” they said in the post on the social media site (in French).

Dax J, who played the call to prayer track, later offered his “sincere apologies to anyone who may have been offended by music that I played at Orbit Festival in Tunisia on Friday”.

“It was never my intention to upset or cause offence to anybody,” he said.

  • Magufuli orders release of Ney

President John Magufuli ordered yesterday the release of Bongo Flava artiste, Emmanuel Elbariki alias Ney wa Mitego, who was arrested on Sunday by the Police in Morogoro.

The ‘Wapo’ hit singer and controversial artiste, was arrested in Mvomero District midnight after a gig and was transferred back to Dar es Salaam for questioning.

Earlier it was claimed the singer and songwriter was summoned by National Arts Council (Basata) for what they describe the musician had ‘violated’ content in his new hit song ‘Wapo’.

The lyrics include; questioning whether there is still freedom of expression in the country and euphemistically makes reference to a doctor who lances boils, but cannot tolerate criticism.

Short after the rapper was arrested, the public including fellow artists took the matter to social media. But in the turn of the events yesterday, President Magufuli questioned why the artiste was arrested for executing his constitutional right, “freedom of opinion.” “The President was surprised by the act,” Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Minister, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe, told reporters in Dodoma.

Instead, the minister said the president had advised the rapper to improve his hit by increasing some missing lyrics. He identified the missing ‘crucial’ words as drug users, drug barons and tax evaders.

According to Mwakyembe, Ney had not breached any law and should be freed. While it is common that Basata tends to ban such songs for local media platforms including Radio and Television, the president said there was no need for such song to be banned as it creates public awareness.

The president said “he likes such kind of artistes and he has the song in his phone listening every blessed day.” The minister, however, said he has already informed the police to release the rapper and that he was expecting to welcome the musician in Dodoma for additional missing lyrics.
