Speaking to residents of Kigali Sector at Groupe Scholaire (G.S) , the Nyarugenge District mayor Kayisime Nzaramba said that classrooms will be constructed across the district.
Speaking to IGIHE, Mayor Nzaramba said that she is optimistic that new classrooms will create good learning environment that would also advance the quality of education for students.
“This programme aims at building new classrooms by replacing the old ones, we shall construct 25 new classrooms and 36 latrines across the district” she said.
The G.S Kigali head teacher, Théogène Hategekimana said that classrooms will enable them reduce congestion in classrooms.
“We have had congestion problems to the extent that one classroom accommodates 60 students above the acceptable 46 students in one classroom,” he said.
{Ugandan music star, Eddy Kenzo is in the country for a three-day excursion that will see him shoot a video shot for his collabo with Rwandan music icon Mani Martin.

Kenzo arrived in Kigali on Saturday and was welcomed by different people including the media and Mani Martin his host.
Speaking to IGIHE, Mani Martin said that Kenzo came to Kigali for video shot of their ‘Afro Remix’.
He said that the collaboration with Eddy Kenzo will help both individuals in advancing their standards in music career.
The President co-chaired two working sessions. The session on ‘Enabling Digital Entrepreneurship for 2030’ examined how governments and private sector can work together to promote e-commerce and other technology-based businesses. In a discussion on Current Work on Future Directions, the chairs of the various Working Groups on Technologies in Space and the Upper Atmosphere had an opportunity to share key outcomes of their activities.
President Kagame pointed out that the Broadband Commission offers a platform for countries to identify key issues and work together towards finding solutions.
“The need to overcome our differences for the common good is a challenge we all face. Let us keep working hard at it. We must continue to mobilise the ordinary consumer and find a framework that enables us to find common solutions,” President Kagame said.
The Head of State called on Commission members to not be deterred by things that don’t happen even where it looked obvious.
“When we succeed, we must use this as a demonstration. It is not an easy, but possible and we must continue to push forward. Our efforts remain vital in ensuring that broadband and ICT receive the attention they deserve in the global development agenda,” President Kagame said.
The 14th meeting also saw the introduction of ten new commissioners.
Concluding the gathering, President Kagame presented outgoing Director General of UNESCO Ms Irina Bokova, who also serves as the vice co-chair of the Broadband Commission, with a special plaque in recognition of her work over the years.
The two-year old association currently made up with 79 associations and over 200 members brings together individuals and companies that are involved in brokerage services of selling, renting, managing and provide advice on real estate development and management.
Speaking to IGIHE, RWAREB chairperson, Alexandre Semarinyota, said that they established the association to formalize and professionalize the sector by removing the negative image that had been created over the years.
“Our image has been smeared locally yet the services we offer are internationally recognized and respected. We therefore decided to combine efforts so that we earn respect, get more clientele and profit from our job,” he said.
He said that working in an association will help members contribute to the development of the country through paying taxes and enable transparency in real estate management.
“We signed agreements with Rwanda Revenue Authority with an aim of supporting government in collecting taxes from the sector players among other services,” he said.

Rayon Sport president, Chance Denis Gacinya promised continued support to the family of Mutuyimana. He said that every 12nd September, they will always organise his remembrance game and the money from the game will go to support his family especially in paying school fees for his son.
Mutuyimana was born in 1988 and died on 12nd September.
He played for Kiyovu Sport and Police FC before he went to Sofapaka in Kenya where he left in 2016 joining Rayon Sports. He played for Rayon Sport s for one year.
The pilot phase has been conducted in Nyarushishi and Kijote refugee camps in Nyabihu District. The opening ceremony took place in Nyarushishi camp in Nkungu Sector of Rusizi district on Friday.
Speaking at the event, the Minister for Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs , Jeanne d’Arc Debonheur said that beside environment conservation, the exercise will reduce money spent on buying firewood and invest it in other development activities.
“It was observed that we used to spend much money in buying firewood, affecting other development activities. It also affects our forest cover, breeding erosion and other disasters which leave lives and environment susceptible to destruction,” she said.
She said it has been taking Rwf900 million every year to buy firewood, but now it will take a half of the budget and the rest will go in development activities.
{Two sector executive secretaries, Jean Claude Kabanda, the executive secretary for Kaduha sector and Jean de Dieu Kanyarubungo for Musebeya sector have submitted their resignation letters to the Nyamagabe District executive committee.}
Speaking to IGIHE, the Executive Secretary for Nyamagabe District, Emmanuel Twayituriki said that they received both resignations on Friday 15th September 2017.
“We received their resignation letters citing personal reasons. The executive committee will decide on their resignations,” he said.
Twayituriki said that both officials had neither bad performance records nor cases any other tangible problem that would inform their resignation.
He said that by the beginning of this week the district committee will have decided on the next course of action so that residents continue with accessing good and fast services.
Speaking to IGIHE, the Rwanda National Police Spokesperson, ACP Theos Badege, said that post-mortem results indicate that lacking oxygen circulation to all parts of the body including the brain and lungs led to the pastor’s demise. Badege said that they suspect her husband, Drake Mugisha, to have been involved in the murder. He, Mugisha, was on Saturday arrested to help police with investigations.
“We have based our actions of arresting the suspect on doctors’ post-mortem report, information of perpetual home violence and circumstances of volatility in the night and the morning she died,” said Badege.
Badege urged the public to avoid any form of domestic violence but always consult with local leaders and police in time to amicably resolve any emerging conflicts. Pastor Mutesi has been the head of Gates of Heaven Ministry based at Muhima, a Kigali suburb.
The decorated officers, who include 58 females, constitute three contingents; two Rwanda Formed Police Units (FPUs) and a Protection and Support Unit PSU, each composed of 140 police officers. Others serve as Individual Police Officers (IPOs), and act as advisors and mentors.

While speaking about the importance of the “exemplary service and work” done by the decorated officers for the people of CAR, Rochdi noted that the service medal signifies “respect and admiration for accomplishments made to bringing peace and safety in Central African Republic.”
She commended the “high level of discipline and good conduct exhibited by Rwanda National police contingents”, a conduct she said should “inspire peacekeepers all over the world.”
“You have done your work with diligence and courage to protect civilian under threat of death in the Central African war-torn society,” she said.
She recognized the “outstanding quality of Rwandan leadership and Rwanda National Police in particular that inspires Rwandan police peacekeepers all over the world.”
Rochdi also paid tribute to RNP and the country in general for upholding “zero tolerance” policy to indiscipline such as sexual exploitation and abuse.
This year, the festival, traditionally sponsored by OCP Group, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and paying tribute to a Rwandan film by name of “The Belgian , in order to strengthen cooperation links between Moroccan and Rwandan film industry and to open up opportunities for discussion between Rwandan filmmakers and their Moroccan counterparts.
The festival that started on 9th of this month will end on 16th. Its main purpose is to promote African cinema and cultural promotion.
This year, the festival pays tribute to Rwandan culture through the performance of Rwandan artistes like Jules Sentore and more Rwandan film stars.
Among others invitees that are showcasing the Rwandan culture in the festival is the book writer Mukasonga Scholastique who wrote ‘Notre Dame du Nil’.
Through her works; Mukasonga showcased the soul of Rwanda by depicting hearts of men and women rooted in a land with a history and a culture full of tragedy and heroism. It is through her raw retelling that she paints a hopeful renaissance of a more serene future.
“Most of my books are dedicated to the memory of the genocide. It is a duty to remember so that the victims do not fall into oblivion, “said the novelist during a conference held in the festival.

OCP Group officials told IGIHE that they invested money in this 40-year-old Festival in order to contribute to the establishment of African own identity around the world through culture.
The festival is attended by cinema experts from 14 African countries competing for the main award in the event.
Competitors are from Senegal, Mozambique, Ghana, Banin, Mali, Algerie, Soth Africa, Burkina Fasso, Togo, Uganda, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Rwanda.
