{{Luanda}} — {The Executive Secretary of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR), Ntumba Luaba, said last Wednesday in Luanda that considering the advances made in twelve years of peace, Angola is an example to be followed by the ICGLR member states.}
Speaking to ANGOP, at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, on his arrival in the country for a three-day work visit, Ntumba Luaba expressed his utter discontent about the climate of instability still hitting some countries of the ICGLR region, adding that this is an opportune moment for member states to come to an understanding and make good use of the rotating presidency of the institution, now chaired by Angola.
“Personally, I am very proud about the development of Angola in various domains, for maintaining peace and stability at all levels, which has enabled this country to be seen as a reference in Africa”, emphasised the source.
Thus, he highlighted the wise leadership of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos, and his capacity in helping to solve conflicts. In this ambit, he lauded those African countries which, without qualm, have “copied” the governance of Angola.
He mentioned some of the progresses being made in Angola since the achievement of peace in 2002, such as in the domains of infrastructures, energy, water, sports, agriculture, among others, which place this country among the leading nations in international organisations.
The Republic of Angola, through its Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, is since January 15, 2014, the chair of the ICGLR, a regional organisation comprised by Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia
