{Ambassadors of Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, Congo, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Bangladesh and Pakistan held meetings with the South Africa Home Affairs Minister to discuss the protection of foreign citizens targeted by attacks of armed groups.}
The Minister noted that the Government was stepping up security presence in areas where the attacks had occurred. He pointed out that more than 28 people suspected of committing attacks on foreigners had been arrested, adding that the Government of South Africa would continue to hunt down and bring to justice those taking part in the attacks.
The Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to work closely with all the relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure the safety of Ethiopians residing in South Africa.
