African Envoys Meet Over Jobs in South Sudan

{The Kenyan ambassador to South Sudan Cleland Leshore was yesterday among African envoys lobbying the Juba government to rescind a decision to ban foreign workers from the country.}

Leshore on Thursday held a meeting South Sudan Foreign Affairs minister Barnaba Marial on the employment of foreigners.

It was also resolved that the South Sudan Ministry of Labour, Public Service and Human Resource Development consult with all affected stakeholders, including private companies that have invested in the country.

Leshore yesterday said he and his African counterparts were engaging South Sudanese government officials and policy makers to rescind the decision to expel foreigners.

“All African ambassadors in Juba are meeting government officials over the issue and I hope that it will be resolved,” he said.
