The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Angolan match officials for this weekend’s 2014 World Cup qualifier between Tanzania and Morocco.
The group C encounter will take place at the 60,000-capacity National Stadium on Sunday. Cote d‘Ivoire lead the group with four points, one above second placed Taifa Stars.
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information officer Boniface Wambura named the officials as Helder Martins de Carvalho who will be the centre referee assisted by countrymen Inacio Manuel Candido and Ricardo Daniel Cachicumi while Antonio Muachihuissa Caxala will be the fourth official.
David Fani from Botswana will be the match commissioner and is scheduled to arrive on Friday aboard South African Airways alongside the referees’ assessor, Neermal Boodhoo of South Africa.
Taifa Stars head coach Kim Poulsen had already named his 23-man squad that started training on Saturday to prepare for the match.
Out of the 23 summoned Stars players, only 14 had reported at the camp by yesterday noon.
The players who are at the camp include captain Juma Kaseja (Simba) and his assistant Aggrey Morris of Azam.
Others are Erasto Nyoni (Azam), Kelvin Yondani (Yanga), Nadir Haroub (Yanga), Nassoro Cholo (Simba), Shomari Kapombe (Simba) and Salum Abubakar (Azam).
The list also includes; Athuman Idd (Yanga), Amri Kiemba (Simba), Frank Domayo (Yanga), Mwinyi Kazimoto (Simba), Mrisho Ngasa (Simba) and Simon Msuva (Yanga).
Wambura said Hussein Shariff, Issa Rashid and Shabani Nditi, all from Mtibwa sugar were expected to report late in the evening.
According to Wambura, Mbwana Samatta, who scored the winner against Cameroon in last month’s friendly, will jet into the country tonight together with his TP Mazembe teammate, Thomas Ulimwengu. The camp might be full house tomorrow with Azam players expected to join teammates after their Confederation Cup assignment in Liberia.
