Minister Gatete was speaking at the launch of the 2017 Savings Week, an annual event aimed to sensitise Rwandans on the importance of savings.
Savings volume accumulated by individuals, enterprises and governments plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable national economic growth.
Themed “Our Savings, Our Wealth” the 2017 Savings Week puts an emphasis on reminding and educating Rwandans on the importance of saving and exercising money management decisions that best fit the circumstances of one’s life.
“Savings, especially long-term support investment for economic growth. This results into higher productivity and wealth not only to individuals and households but also to the country at large,” Minister Gatete said.
