Palestinians killed by Israeli forces after alleged stabbing and shooting on the eve of US vice president’s arrival.
A Palestinian shot and seriously wounded two Israeli police officers in Jerusalem before being killed, Israeli authorities and medics say.
The man opened fire on a group of police officers on Salah El Deen Street, near Herod’s Gate in occupied East Jerusalem, on Tuesday and wounded one, police said.
He then fled and wounded another police officer before being killed.

Dvir Adani, a volunteer medic with the United Hatzalah emergency services in Jerusalem, said in a statement “two wounded individuals, one of whom was unconscious,” were treated.
Earlier, a Palestinian stabbed a rabbi in a store in Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv, Israeli police said
The victim and owner of the shop pounced on the attacker, seized his weapon and killed him, the police said.
Al Jazeera’s Nadim Baba, reporting from West Jerusalem, said there were stabbing incidents in addition to these attacks.
“There have been reports of what Israeli media are calling stabbing spree by a Palestinian attacker,” he said.
“The incidents happened at three different locations in the port city of Jaffa.”
The attacks came shortly before US Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Israel for meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
In total, 183 Palestinians, 28 Israelis, an American, a Sudanese and an Eritrean have died in a wave of attacks since October 1.
Israelis say most of the Palestinians were killed while carrying out alleged knife, gun or car-ramming attacks.
Others were shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes or demonstrations.
Also on Tuesday, a Palestinian woman attempted to stab Israeli police forces in Jerusalem’s Old City before being shot dead.
