Kenya:Four AP officers arrested with illegal ivory

{Four Administration Police (AP) officers were on Monday afternoon arrested with a five- kilogramme elephant tusk in Nairobi.}

The officers — Corporal Stephen Chege, Corporal Martin Marangu, Corporal Francis Karani and Constable Peter Kuria Kimuyu — are all based at the AP’s Security of Government Building (SGB). They are to be charged with being in possession of wildlife trophy on Tuesday. Officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) also detained a Toyota Prado vehicle, registration number KAV 858F, which was being used by the officers.

KWS rangers guard intercepted ivory at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the past. Four Administration Police (AP) officers were on Monday afternoon arrested with a five- kilogramme elephant tusk in Nairobi.
