Tanzania:President sworn-in remaining ministers

NEWLY appointed ministers took oaths today to complete the cabinet picture almost two months, since the fifth President John Magufuli was sworn-in to power after October 25, General Election.

President Magufuli sworn in office four newly appointed cabinet ministers and one deputy minister at a brief ceremony held at the State House in Dar es Salaam this morning.

The occasion, took some 20 minutes, also marked completing the president’s process of appointment of 18 cabinet ministers and 19 deputies.

The four cabinet posts were previously left vacant when Dr Magufuli unveiled the new cabinet about three weeks ago.

The ministers who took the oath before the President included the former Acting Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Commissioner General, Dr Philip Mpango, who becomes the Minister for Finance and Planning.

Professor, Makame Mbarawa recently appointed as the Minister for Water and Irrigation becomes the Minister of Works, Transport and Communications.

Engineer. Gerson Lwenge becomes the new Minister for Water and Irrigation.

The former Minister for Water, Professor, Jumanne Maghembe becomes the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, while the former Director of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), Dr Joyce Ndalichako, becomes the Minister for Education Science, Technology and Vocational Training.

The Deputy Minister for Home Affairs is Mr Hamad Yusuf Masauni.
