Cabinet now complete as vacant posts filled

{PRESIDENT John Magufuli has appointed four ministers and one deputy minister to complete the list of 18 cabinet ministers and 19 deputies, the posts previously left vacant when he unveiled the new cabinet about two weeks ago.}

According to a statement issued by the Directorate of Presidential Communications in Dar es Salaam, Acting Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) Commissioner General, Dr Philip Mpango, has been appointed Minister for Finance and Planning.

There has even been a reshuffle in the appointment of Professor Makame Mbarawa as the Minister for Water and Irrigation, moving him to the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communications, to be replaced by Engineer Gerson Lwenge who becomes the new Minister for Water and Irrigation.

Prof Mbarawa, therefore, becomes the ‘special one’ anointed to fill the all-important post efficiently and effectively run by President Magufuli himself before running for president.

The former Minister for Water, Professor Jumanne Maghembe, becomes the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, while the former Executive Secretary of the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA), Dr Joyce Ndalichako, becomes the Minister for Education, Science, Technology and Vocational Training.

The Deputy Minister for Home Affairs is Mr Hamad Yusuf Masauni.
