Speaking at a campaign rally in Bunefule parish, Bugobero Sub-county in Manafwa District on Thursday, Mr Museveni said government would prioritise taking referral health services closer to the communities in the districts.

“This district has three health centre IVs, 12 health centre IIIs and six health centre IIs, we are going to build a big referral hospital here and in other districts to ensure the health referral system is close to the people,” said President Museveni.
“The NRM government is committed to attaining equity of access to cost-effective, quality healthcare services,” he said.
Mr Museveni said he will rehabilitate health facilities that are in bad shape, build referral hospitals, recruit more health workers and stock adequate drugs to ensure better health services.

He said his government has already started a process of getting money from African Development Bank to start tarmacking of the Mbale-Bubulo- Lwakhakha road for better cross border business.
“Actually this money is already there but we are just following the procurement laws of the African Development Bank to access it and this is our money and the construction will begin in 2016,” said Mr Museveni.
