Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi has halted his campaign program for one week after flying to the United Kingdom to visit his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi who has been admitted in a UK hospital since October.
Amama was scheduled to campaign in Eastern Uganda districts of Pallisa and Iganga starting Monday.
Spokesperson of the Go Forward campaign Josephine Mayanja-Nkangi says Mbabazi will first consult the Electoral Commission before he resumes his campaigns to avoid colliding with other candidates.
“We will be doing some housekeeping this week. Amama Mbabazi had to go away for a while to visit his wife who is unwell but he’ll be back” Mayanja-Nkangi said.
