Crime preventers deployed at Museveni’s campaign venue

{Dozens of crime preventers recently passed out by President Yoweri Museveni have been deployed to provide security alongside the armed forces ahead of his campaign rally at Iguli Primary School, Dokolo District.}

The incumbent and National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate Mr Museveni is expected to address two rallies- one at Amati Buru Primary School, and another at Iguli Primary School, all in Dokolo today as he continues to campaign for another term of office. Pupils of Iguli, where Mr Museveni has constructed several classroom blocks are dancing to the “you want another rap” tune. However, one of the crime preventers, Mr Tom Okori told Daily Monitor he did not know his role at the rally.

“We were asked to line up here but I don’t know what am supposed to do,” he says.
As presidential campaigns enter day three, GoForward candidate is to hold his rally in Mityana town while Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s Kizza Besigye proceeds further south to Kisoro district. Dr Abed Bwanika is expected to hold his campaign rally in Bugiri and Namyingo.

However, former Makere University vice chancellor Prof Venansius Baryamureeba who is contesting on the independent ticket has suspended his campaigns, saying he will not hold another rally until the Independent Electoral Commission provides him with enough security.
