{Police have commenced investigations into circumstances under which the Uganda Airforce, Major Kiwanuka, died in a road accident along Entebbe Road on Sunday night.}
The deadly accident occurred at around 6:00pm at Kitubulu, just a few kilometres from Entebbe town.
Sources in the Airforce told ChimpReports that Kiwanuka was travelling from western Uganda with his driver in a Toyota Noah brand car when he rammed into a taxi, killing all its occupants on spot.
Several others sustained life-threatening injuries in the blood-spattered incident.
The accident caused a monstrous traffic jam in Entebbe yesterday as hundreds of grief-struck partiers leaving the beaches along the shores of Lake Victoria gathered to take a glimpse of the blood-soaked bodies of the deceased.
“It was a horrific scene. Plucking the smashed flesh from the car’s wreckage was heart-wrenching,” said Davis Mwiine, 25, an eyewitness.
Previous causes of accidents along Entebbe Road have since been blamed on drunk-driving, over speeding and recklessness.
Police are expected to issue a statement later on Monday.
