{{Nigeria’s government expects the economy to grow by 6.19% in 2014, accelerating from a 5.5% expansion last year, the statistics office said on Tuesday.
It said the economy expanded by 6.2% in the first quarter compared with a year earlier as strong growth in the services sector offset a drop in oil production.
Nigeria overtook South Africa as Africa’s largest economy in April, after a rebasing of its calculation almost doubled its gross domestic product to more than $500 billion.}}
